【Awards and Commendations】Arata Hashimoto, Sakai lab, Department of Nuclear Engineering and Management, (M1)
On 12/04/2024, Arata Hashimoto, Sakai lab, Department of Nuclear Engineering and Management, (M1), received the “ Best Poster Presentation Award” at The 9th Asian Particle Technology Symposium (APT2024).
〈Name of award and short explanation about the award〉
This award is given to students who have made outstanding poster presentation at the 9th Asian Particle Technology Symposium.
〈About awarded research〉
Title:Numerical simulation on a capacity control in a rotary tablet press
Rotary tablet presses are essential for the large-scale production of pharmaceutical tablets, and it is well known that the powder die-filling process during the press is crucial for maintaining the quality of the manufactured pharmaceuticals. However, detailed observation of the behavior of powder inside the press is challenging, and the dynamics of the powder during the die-filling process, as well as the influence of the gas phase, remain unexplored. In this study, we simulated the powder die-filling process to elucidate its mechanisms. These findings are expected to contribute to the optimization of rotary tablet press processes.
〈Your impression & future plan〉
I am deeply honored to have received the Poster Award at this international conference. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Professor Sakai for his continuous guidance and support in carrying out this research. I am also deeply thankful to the members of my laboratory for their valuable advice and support, which contributed significantly to this achievement. Encouraged by this award, I will continue to dedicate myself to advancing my research further.
