【Awards and Commendations】Sena Maru, Sakaue lab, Department of Nuclear Engineering and Management, (D1)

On 3/14/2025, Sena Maru, Sakaue lab, Department of Nuclear Engineering and Management, (D1), received the “Young Presentation Aword” at the Beam Physics Club.

〈Name of award and short explanation about the award〉

The award is given to young researchers or students whose presentation, initiative, and research achievements are recognized as particularly outstanding

〈About awarded research〉

Design Study of Acceleration Microstructures for Laser Dielectric Acceleration

This study involves the simulation-based design of dielectric materials with microstructures used as accelerating structures in laser dielectric acceleration, a technique that has the potential to drastically miniaturize and improve the quality of particle accelerators. Since the parameters of the resulting beam depending on the design of the microstructures, detailed design and analysis were conducted, and then established the design guidelines.

〈Your impression & future plan〉

I am deeply honored to receive this award. I want to sincerely thank my supervisor Prof. Sakaue for crucial guidance. As a future plan, acceleration tests will be conducted based on this simulated study to aim stable and practical acceleration.
