〈Name of award and short explanation about the award〉
Atomic Energy Society of Japan, Health Physics and Environmental Science Division Paper Award
This award is given for an outstanding paper in the field of health physics and environmental science.
〈About awarded research〉
Paper title:The effect of using Filtered Containment Venting System on variation in dose with distance in the prompt accident consequence assessment
About awarded research:This research establishes a new rapid radiological consequence assessment methodology that incorporates filtered containment venting systems installed after the accident at TEPCO’s Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power station. The methodology introduces a novel analytical framework based on dose contribution rates of aerosol and gaseous radionuclides under different equipment operating conditions. This approach enables quantitative demonstration of how varying accident scenarios affect the relationship between radiation exposure and distance from the nuclear power plant.
〈Your impression & future plan〉
I am deeply honored to receive such high recognition from the distinguished members of the selection committee. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who provided guidance and contributed to this research and its outcomes. I will continue to pursue my research endeavors and hope to contribute to the realization of more effective nuclear emergency preparedness and response.
