To Applicants for the Special Oral Examination in Master’s Program [Friday, June 21th, 2024]

The selection results of the “Applicant screening” will be informed in early July to the applicants. The results of the "Special Oral Examination" will be announced as soon as possible after the examination to the applicants who take it.

Application Documents for Special Oral Examination in Master’s Program (Summary) [Monday, May 27th, 2024]

Following the instructions on the WEB Application System, applicants should upload the following documents by June 10th (Monday), who would like to take the special oral examination.
(1) Applicants must complete both a short thesis regarding reason for application and research content and a grade summary sheet reporting the academic grade of undergraduate course etc. by downloading the templates below and submit them as electronic files (PDF). Please follow the instructions in the templates to complete them.
・Short thesis regarding reason for application and research content (English) (MSWORD)
・Grade summary sheet reporting the academic grade of undergraduate course etc. (English) (MSEXCEL)
(2) In addition to the above documents, applicants should upload a copy of original academic transcripts (including liberal arts courses) (PDF) of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Tokyo by June 10th (Monday), who graduated, or are expected to graduate, from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Tokyo and would like to take special oral examination.

Guidance for the entrance exam (FY2025)[Additional]

Guidance for the entrance exam will be held online (Zoom) in Japanese on the dates and times listed below.

Following the instructions on the WEB Application System, individuals should upload a copy of original academic transcripts (including liberal arts courses) (PDF) of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Tokyo by June 10th (Monday), who graduated, or are expected to graduate, from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Tokyo and would like to take special oral examination.

TOEFL score submission

The deadline for TOEFL score submission for NEM is 10th June 2024.

Special Oral Examination (notice in Oct2023)

The Department of Nuclear Engineering and Management plans to conduct the "Special Oral Examination" in the next examination in summer 2024. The following link provides the current information. Detailed information will be announced at a later date. If there are any additions or changes to this announcement, we will make a new announcement on our website.
About Special Oral Examination

To Prospective International Students

The Department of Nuclear Engineering and Management offers advanced study and research opportunities to international students. Master's and Doctoral courses will lead to the corresponding degrees respectively in two years and three years. Lectures and instructions for research are given generally in English. Japanese language courses are optionally available.

There are various types of application procedures for the graduate programs in the Department of Nuclear Engineering and Management as follows.
1. Regular Admission
